Gluten-Free Chex Snack Mix with Ranch Seasoning

  • Author: Emma
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Description

A simple, crunchy, and savory gluten-free snack mix made with Chex cereal, pretzels, and a tangy ranch butter coating. It’s ready in 30 minutes, budget-friendly, and perfect for parties or weeknight snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Gluten-Free Chex Mix (combination of rice, corn, and wheat-free varieties)
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 packets Ranch Seasoning (approx. 28g total)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 cup Gluten-Free Pretzels (broken into pieces)
  • ½ cup Cheddar Cheese Crisps
  • ¼ cup Roasted Sunflower Seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ teaspoon Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line two standard baking sheets with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  2. Spread the Chex cereal, pretzels, and cheese crisps onto the baking sheets in a single layer.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the ranch seasoning packets, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
  4. Drizzle the ranch butter mixture over the cereal and pretzels. Toss gently but thoroughly with a silicone spatula to ensure every piece is coated. Distribute sunflower seeds evenly.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent burning and ensure even toasting. The mix should be light golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the trays. The mix will harden as it cools.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Do not crowd the pan; spread mix in a single layer to prevent steaming. Stir every 10 minutes to avoid burning. Cool completely before storing to ensure crunchiness. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. If your kitchen is humid, add a silica packet or a piece of bread to the container to absorb moisture.
