Description
A quick, no-bake salty-sweet snack made with pretzels, chocolate, and caramel. This 10-minute freezer recipe is perfect for game days or lazy nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz hard pretzel twists or sticks
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 oz milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce
- Flaky sea salt (e.g., Maldon)
- Optional: ½ cup chopped peanuts
- Optional: 4 oz white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Break pretzels into bite-sized pieces (1-2 inches) and place in a large microwave-safe bowl.
- Add semi-sweet chocolate chips to the bowl with pretzels. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth and glossy. Do not overheat.
- Stir chocolate and pretzels together until fully coated. Pour mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread into a single layer about ½ inch thick.
- Warm caramel sauce in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until pourable. Drizzle over the chocolate layer in a zigzag pattern. Use a toothpick to swirl for a marbled effect.
- Immediately sprinkle flaky sea salt and optional chopped peanuts over the wet caramel.
- Optional: Melt milk or white chocolate chips and drizzle over the top in a crosshatch pattern.
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- Break the bark into irregular pieces and serve.
Notes
Use hard pretzels for crunch; soft pretzels will become chewy. Ensure all equipment is completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. If the house is hot, store in the fridge.
