Game Day Brownie Footballs with Peanut Butter Laces

  • Author: Emma
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

No-bake, protein-packed brownie footballs shaped like footballs and drizzled with peanut butter laces. These gluten-free friendly snacks are perfect for game day, offering a balance of indulgence and fuel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (170g) dark chocolate chips (60-70% cacao)
  • 1/2 cup (130g) natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup (80g) old-fashioned rolled oats (certified gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) almond flour
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine oats, almond flour, and a pinch of salt. Pulse oats in a blender for 10 seconds if a smoother texture is desired.
  2. Add honey to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse sand and holds together when pressed.
  3. Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave for another 15 seconds. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  4. Stir half of the peanut butter into the melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the oat-almond flour blend and stir vigorously until coated and sticky.
  6. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of mixture and roll into a ball, then gently elongate into a football shape. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Repeat with remaining mixture to make 12-14 footballs. Place the sheet in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up.
  8. While footballs chill, melt the remaining peanut butter in the microwave for 20 seconds until pourable. Adjust consistency with a tiny splash of milk or water if needed.
  9. Transfer melted peanut butter to a piping bag or Ziploc bag with a snipped corner.
  10. Remove a football from the freezer and drizzle peanut butter in a zigzag pattern down the center to mimic laces.
  11. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top. Return footballs to the fridge for 5 minutes to set completely.
  12. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving.

Notes

Ensure chocolate does not get water in it to prevent seizing. If your kitchen is hot, keep chocolate bowl over ice water while working. For vegan option, use dairy-free chocolate chips and maple syrup. For nut-free option, use sunflower seed butter and ensure oats are certified gluten-free.
