Football Charcuterie Board: The Way My Dad Made It

  • Author: Emma
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A rustic, no-cook game day charcuterie board inspired by family tradition, featuring a balance of cured meats, sharp cheeses, fresh fruits, and crunchy accompaniments for easy grazing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz Prosciutto di Parma (or serrano ham)
  • 8 oz Sharp White Cheddar Cheese
  • 6 oz Soft Goat Cheese (log shape)
  • 8 oz Dry Salami (pepperoni style)
  • 1 cup Green Olives (Castelvetrano or Kalamata)
  • 1 small Crusty Baguette (approx. 12 oz)
  • 2 cups Grapes (red or green)
  • 1 cup Toasted Unsalted Almonds
  • 2 boxes Crackers (plain water and seeded varieties, approx. 16 oz)
  • 1/2 cup Apricot Jam

Instructions

  1. Place small bowls on the board containing the olives, apricot jam, and almonds, spacing them out to create a framework.
  2. Arrange the goat cheese log and cheddar cubes/wedges near the center, clustering them together for easy access.
  3. Fold prosciutto and salami slices into loose rosettes or fans and arrange them around the cheeses, leaving gaps to avoid clutter.
  4. Tuck grapes into empty spaces between meats and cheeses to create a sense of abundance, and scatter almonds loosely around the board.
  5. Lean baguette slices against the board or stack them neatly, and place crackers in a fan or stack for easy grabbing.
  6. Let cheese sit at room temperature for 30-45 minutes before serving to enhance flavor and texture.

Notes

Cheese should be served at room temperature for best flavor. Do not overcrowd the board; leave space for plates. If making ahead, cover loosely with plastic wrap and do not leave out for more than 4 hours. For a vegetarian version, skip meats and add roasted vegetables and hummus. For gluten-free, swap bread and crackers for GF alternatives.
