Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts: Perfect 15-Minute Weeknight Side

  • Author: Emma
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These crispy air fryer Brussels sprouts are a game-changing side dish that takes just 15 minutes to make. They are shatteringly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with savory bacon, sweet maple syrup, and parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. If large, cut into quarters for uniform size.
  2. Pat the sprouts dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  3. Place sprouts in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  5. Place sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket or turning sprouts halfway through, until tender inside and crispy browned outside.
  7. Transfer cooked sprouts to a serving bowl.
  8. While hot, sprinkle with bacon bits, drizzle with maple syrup, and add parmesan cheese. Toss gently to combine.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the basket to prevent steaming. Ensure sprouts are completely dry before cooking for maximum crispiness. Use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic to avoid burning. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to restore crispiness; avoid microwaving.
